Student Testing

Student Testing

The Smarter Balanced assessments are very important tests that students take during the year. Students in grades 3-6 participate in the tests, which include
Common Core Standards in English/Language Arts and Math.

This year, Smarter Balanced Testing for grades 3-6 is scheduled to take place in May. We ask that parents do whatever they can to avoid medical appointments, dental appointments, or any other engagements during school hours during testing days. Students do much better when they take the tests with their peers in the regular classroom setting.
Students in grades 3-6 are assessed three times per year on the NWEA Measure of Academic Progress test. Results of these tests are used to inform classroom instruction and set individual activities in the Compass Learning Program.
